A high-level official delegation headed by Minister of Communications
and Information Technology Dr. Tarek Kamel and representatives
of the Egyptian government and ICT companies will represent Egypt
in the ITU Telecom World 2006 held from 4-8 December 2006 in ASIAWORLD-EXPO,
HONG KONG, CHINA.
By participating in this international event, Egypt aims at attracting
foreign direct investments to stimulate the growth its ICT industry
as well as extending to the world high-quality ICT services and
products.
An Egyptian 195m2 pavilion will showcase the National Telecom
Regulatory Authority (NTRA), Telecom Egypt, the Smart Village
and General Authority for Investment and free zones (GAFI) in
the world event.
Two young Egyptians will represent Egypt in the ITU Youth Forum
which will provide a space of sharing and developing ideas.
ITU Telecom World 2006 will feature an exhibition where over
600 ICT companies from 40 countries will be showcased, a forum
that will bring together CEOs, VIPs and government officials and
a telecom village that will act as an ideal networking hub.
