Egypt will be officially represented at the ITU Telecom World
2006 exhibition and Youth forum. Dr. Tarek Kamel, minister of
Communications and Information Technology will head the delegation
to this world event.
The Egyptian delegation includes of ministry officials and representatives
of the ICT sector. The efforts exerted by the Ministry are featured
in its participation in the exhibition; the Egyptian Pavilion,
195m2, which is housing the National Telecom Regulatory Authority,
Telecom Egypt, Smart Village and General Authority for Investment
and free zones (GAFI).
At the Pavilion, Egypt shares its vision as the regional hub for
the ICT industry in Africa and Middle East. Egypt aspires to attract
foreign direct investment to stimulate the growth of CIT industry
and to extend to the World superior-quality telecom and information
technology services and products.
